- Bishop of Beth-Seleucia, he was known for the number of converts he brought to the faith.
Denounced for interfering with the Persian star worship, and suspected of treasonous collaboration with Roman authorities, he was arrested in 339 with
Saint Sapor,
Saint Mahanes,
Saint Abraham, and
Saint Simeon.
Tried before King Shapur II, they were given the chance to save themselves by denouncing their faith; they declined.
