Studied law but left it for the priesthood.
Restored a ruined hospital where he tended the sick and gave legal advice for free.
When he discovered that the hospital had fallen into disrepair because its funding had been misappropriated, he successfully sued the bishop of Chiusi for return of the funds; the bishop had him killed by paid hitmen.
