Educated at Much Woolton, in Rheims, and at the English College, Rome at age 20.
Ordained in 1598.
Returned to England as a home missioner in 1602.
Arrested in 1608 and 1612 for the crime of being a priest.
The effectiveness of his debating skills against the anti-Catholic powers of the time led to his being one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.
