When the school was closed during the French Revolution, she used the building to house fugitive priests.
Franciscan tertiary at age 52, taking the name Mary Magdalen.
Founded the Poor Daughters of Mercy at Cherburg, France in 1807 when she was 61.
The Daughters are teachers and nurses, and at the time of Marie's death 30 years later, they had 37 houses.
