- Born of a poor, pious family.
An uneducated shepherd in his youth, he spent his time in the fields in prayer.
Orphaned, he was abused by his big brother.
Entered the Capuchins at age 16, receiving the name Seraphin.
Noted for his simple, obedient, ascetic life, and his charity to the poor.
He had a special devotion to the Blessed Eucharist and to Our Lady.
Had the gifts of reading hearts, of miracles, and of prophecy.
His counsel was sought by both Church and secular authorities.
