- Moved from Greece to Apulia, Italy as a teenager where he wandered the streets carrying a cross and crying "Kyrie Eleison" ("Lord, have mercy").
Groups of children would follow him, also crying "Kyrie Eleison".
Noted for his piety, but considered a lunatic by the locals.
Many miracles reported at his tomb.
