Saint Theophanes the Chronographer

Profile: Educated at the Byzantine imperial court. Married layman. Both he and his wife entered religious life. Founded two monasteries. Abbot at Mount Migniana abbey. Wrote a Chronagraphy, a sort of abstract of history from 284 to 813. Exiled to Samothrace by Leo the Armenian for opposing iconoclasm.
