Evangelist sent from Rome to Gaul c.250. Worked with Saint Sernin of Toulouse and Saint Denis. First bishop of Arles. His cultus is ancient; Pope Zosimus wrote about him in 417. Often confused with the Trophimus mentioned by Saint Paul the Apostle, they were actually centuries apart.
