Chaplain to northern insurgents in the Catholic Rising of the North against the repressions of Queen Elizabeth I.
Captured when the revolt failed completely, he was arrested at the altar, and charged with celebrating Mass.
Offered his freedom if he would denouce Catholicism; he delined.
Martyr.
