Profile

Married to Francis Bosco. Mother of Joseph and Saint John Bosco. Widowed in 1817 at age 29. Took care of her sons, her mother-in-law, and her brother-in-law. In 1846, at age 58, she moved to Turin, Italy where she spent her last ten years helping Saint John in his work with poor and abandoned boys, helping begin the work that would lead to the formation of the Salesians, and becoming the surrogate mother to a small army of neglected boys whose lives were turned around.
