Some of the email I get is from folks who want to somehow help with the web site. It's beautiful to get such offers, and while I don't particularly need anyone to write pages, there are some things that come to mind that could help me, SQPN and the mission in general.
Thanks for coming by the site. - Terry
- Links
- This is a simple and obvious one, but can be done by anyone with a web site or blog. Good URLs to use are
- http://sqpn.com = the main SQPN address; lead folks to The Best in Catholic Podcasting
- http://saints.sqpn.com = the main address to the Saints section; connect folks to our family in heaven
- http://saints.sqpn.com/today.htm = a link that will take you straight to today on the calendar of saints
- Research Materials
- Inherited a copy of Lives of the Saints or a bunch of religious medals from an auntie who's gone on to her reward, and you don't know what to do with them? Cleaning out a bunch of old books about the saints or the Church, and feel bad about just throwing them away? Found an antique Catholic-related book you wish was online so it would not be lost? Well, I am a pack-rat for this stuff like you wouldn't believe! I'll give them a loving home at
Terry H JonesI'm not asking for anything you want to keep. Just keep me in mind when you're cleaning out old bookcases or have to buy a whole box of books off eBay just to get the one volume you want.

Earlington, KY 42410- Coloring Book Images
- This is an odd project idea that I've had for a while, but I don't have the skills to pull it off.
I would like to offer free pdfs or gifs of colouring-book style saint images for downloading and printing. My thinking is this:
- For all the tech-related stuff we have today, little kids still like coloring pictures.
- This site is used a lot by home schoolers or Catholic schools who would probably rather have the kids more familiar with the beati than Spiderman.
- Conclusion - it would be a good idea to provide coloring book style pictures of saints for use by schools, home schoolers, or anyone else.
For all I know, there's software out there that will do this - you pass in an image of a saint from a great painting or old holy card, and out pops a version that looks like a page from a coloring book. But I'm guessing that there still needs to be a human touch. And there's no substitute for a good eye and a loving hand for introducing a kid to Saint Joseph holding the Child Jesus, or Saint Francis preaching to the birds or fish, or Saint Anthony the Abbot and all the critters that hang around him, or even poor old Saint Lawrence packing his gridiron.
So - got some artistic skills? some paper and a big black sharpie? an interest in the saints? and a willingness to have your work available for free download and use by kids? Let me know.
- Spell checking and line editing
- Oh, boy howdy, do I need help with this! Many folks have written over time pointing out errors due to bad typing, unmodified copy-and-paste, and posting material that should have been considered "first draft". If you spot a typo or are confused by something I've written, let me know.
- Contribute to SQPN
- I write this web site because I want to write this web site, and I depend on my day job skills to pay the bills. But some of the great folks at SQPN work on podcasting and video production full time, and certainly the network needs funds to buy equipment, pay for server bandwidth, and cover the other myriad costs of running a business. Got a few dollars you're willing to contribute to the cause? There's a way to do it by clicking *** THIS LINK ***. It can be a one-time gift or a regular donation. It goes for a good cause, and if you listen to the podcasts, you know they're doing good work.
- Pray for us
- Pray that all of us involved with SQPN, Rosary Army, this web site, the podcasts, and all the support folks do good work, work worthy of the goal, and work that helps bring people closer to God and His Church.
